The Nevada skills test meets the national standards set by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators. ![]() Testing of the parking skills needed is met by the requirements of entering, and backing out of, a perpendicular parking space and by other vehicle control requirements. The Department determined that parallel parking was an unnecessary part of the test. "Parallel parking was eliminated from the skills tests as of Jan. The Department of Motor Vehicles eliminated the parallel parking portion of the test on Jan. LAS VEGAS (KTNV) - Drivers will no longer have to worry about parallel parking when it comes to current and future driving skills tests in Nevada.
